Speaking

Telling my story did not come naturally to me but I have learnt the importance of sharing with others what your life lessons have taught you. And so I share my story in the hope that it might be of some help to other people who may be facing seemingly insurmountable physical and mental challenges.I might have been in a very different place if certain people hadn’t taught me their life lessons.

No matter what, I have learnt, you have to pick yourself up and you have to keep going. You can’t let life or circumstances beat you. You only have one life to live. Yes, you can take a moment to cry but before those tears turn into self-pity, you have to tell yourself that you will and you can. You have to believe in the power of your mind and know that, whether positive or negative, it is the mindset you choose that will determine the outcome more than anything else. My advice is to choose to thrive instead of just survive; choose to gain even some small positive out of overwhelming negative. It doesn’t always come naturally and battles need to be fought along the way. But that spark, that ability to fight, is always somewhere inside you. I for one will never let that spark of mine be extinguished.
